This book is the fifth volume of the Psychoanalytic Collection Lapsus de Toledo, a collection that has been the fruit of teamwork achieved by us as members of the Association of Lapsus de Toledo, which is a cultural association founded in the city of Toledo, Spain.  Its objective is to create a space for study and research on the psychoanalytic practice.  It is two psychoanalysts that mobilize our desire: Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) who discovered the unconscious and Jacques Lacan (1901-1981) who elaborated a new theory based on the Freudian discovery.
On this occasion, I would like to especially thank Elvira Velasco, Laura Medina Mora, Miguel Vilchis, Gorana Manenti, Lola Burgos Astrid Zeceña and Belén Rico who is always with us, for the invaluable support they have provided.  It has been a privilege for us to make our dream come true and of being able to present our book in London.
Four Women: Four Passions, is made up of twenty five articles. The co-authors live and work in different countries.  At the beginning of the book we have the collaboration of seven colleagues that have written a commentary on the reading each of them has made on the book.
I would like to profoundly thank, on the one hand, all the women that as co-authors, maintain an intense and deep bond connecting us all.  It is such a beautiful bond that there are no words to measure or to express it.

« Quatre femmes : quatre passions »

Good afternoon, first of all, I want to thank Cristina Jarque for the opportunity of being part of one of the thousands projects of her long wish list. Thank you for the privilege to be part of this book. Also, I am specially proud of belonging to the group Lapsus de Toledo leaded by Cristina Jarque and Lola Burgos. At this moment, Lapsus de Toledo is an international cultural landmark for the dissemination of the psychoanalysis and the general thought. And right now it has 138 members. Lapsus de Toledo is always on.
This book is written with a pen in one hand and another in the heart. Our pride is to be vocal now of the story of lives of others far away in time but near by in our feelings. We thought that we descended into hell from their ruined lifes, but in reality that hasn’t happened that way. There was a loving hell that forced us to re-think, to transform our everyday experiences through their lives. There’s a daily cruelty that causes mental catastrophes. Individuals that have destroyed the lives of others without realizing the will to destroy that they carried. Our protagonists lived the passion at all costs and it was a weapon of mass destruction. They were never alert. They were victims of their love. The passion led them to a very serious domination loving.
Every time two people fall in love there is always one who loves more. Each of them knows the level of fear that aroused in the other the possible rupture.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, and once again welcome to today´s talk. It´s a great pleasure and a privilege for me to be involved, thanks to Cristina Jarque, in this project.
My own involvement in it focussed on Juana de Castilla, also known as Joanne the Mad, who, by the way,  was the sister of Catherinne of Aragon, Henry the VIII´s first wife.
But I will not be focussing on her, but rather I´ll approach today the passion from a philosophical and philological point of view.
I´ ll divide my talk into three parts: First, I will be laying the groundwork by giving some definitions. Then, I will speak about the contradiction between passion an action. Finally, I will explain the importance of external circumstances in the formation and developement of passion in each of these particular women.
